Liverpool have released a statement claiming every effort is being made to ensure the game against Manchester United can go ahead at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Following the heavy snowfall in the country, Liverpool City Council's Safety Advisory Group held a meeting to determine whether the game would go ahead.
However, a decision has been deferred to 12pm. "The City's Ground Safety Advisory Group is reconvening at midday to discuss the match given that weather conditions may be changing," the Liverpool City Council told Manchester Evening News.
A statement released by Liverpool reads: "A safety meeting was held this morning to assess the weather and travel conditions for today’s fixture against Manchester United at Anfield. "At this stage the match is planned to go ahead as normal and every effort is being made to get the game on.
