Celebrity makeup artist Helen Dowsley has shared the remarkable progress of her son Drew, 30, who spent Christmas at home just three months after a horrific train accident left him for dead for seven hours.

Drew had been struggling with his mental health and was turned away from a hospital, only to be hit by a train hours later. He suffered catastrophic injuries, including the loss of one hand, three brain bleeds, broken ribs, a shattered spine, and a fractured chest plate.

Helen, who was working on the Australian reality TV show Farmer Wants A Wife at the time, had advised him to seek medical help, but was devastated to learn he had been turned away and later admitted with life-changing injuries.

She has now revealed the full extent of his injuries to Daily Mail Australia, describing his body as "absolutely shattered".
