A British doctor took to TikTok to highlight a condition that is becoming more and more common - but takes "months and years" to diagnose.
Dr Ahmed is a GP (@dra_says) who regularly shares his expertise and experiences with his 303,000 followers on TikTok, outlined the symptoms and courses of treatment for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS).
According to the NHS, PoTS is when your heart rate increases very quickly after getting up from sitting or lying down, often making you feel dizzy or lightheaded.
There's no cure, but the condition can be managed with changes to your lifestyle, or sometimes treated with medicines. In a recent video, Dr Ahmed shared the symptoms he sees regularly in patients, which can appear "non-specific" at first but could be linked to PoTS.
