'There is hope' - Sir Chris Hoy issues update on terminal cancer diagnosis

Sir Chris Hoy has shared that the treatment he is undergoing for stage four prostate cancer is 'working', and he remains hopeful of defying the prognosis given by his doctors, which estimated a life expectancy of two to four years.

The six-time Olympic cycling champion was initially diagnosed with cancer in September last year, and sadly announced last month that his condition had become terminal.

A tumour was discovered on the 48 year old's shoulder, and subsequent scans revealed primary cancer in his prostate, which had spread to his bones.

In a tragic turn of events, Hoy's wife Sarra, mother to their two young children aged 10 and seven, was also diagnosed with a "very active and aggressive' form of multiple sclerosis just weeks after the cyclist learnt he had incurable cancer.
