There is currently ‘little evidence’ to link coronavirus with eyesight problems, experts at The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Moorfields Eye Hospital have said.
However, an ophthalmology professor at the University of Oxford has said the virus could affect the eyes in several ways. The health concern has been raised after the Prime Minister’s senior advisor Dominic Cummings said on Monday that he drove from Durham to Barnard Castle, with his wife and child, so that he could test his eyesight before a long drive back home to London.
His worry was shared with Boris Johnson, who also suggested that he had suffered problems with his vision after contracting coronavirus.
