Car ploughs into Scots retail park shop as emergency services race to scene

A car has ploughed into a shop at a retail park in Edinburgh.Emergency services were called to Craigleith Retail Park on South Groathill Avenue in the city after the alarm was raised at around 6pm on Tuesday.Images from the scene, shared with Edinburgh Live, show a vehicle having struck the Pets at Home store.The windscreen of the car and the shop's windows can be seen to have been badly damaged by the impact of the smash.Police, fire crews an the ambulance service were called to assist.

Thankfully no one was injured as a result.A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call at 6.06pm to attend an incident where a car struck a building at Pets at Home on South Groathill Avenue.

We mobilised two appliances from Crewe Toll, however crews were not actually required and have since been stood down."A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.55pm on Tuesday, July 2, police received a report of a car having crashed into the window of a shop at Craigleith Retail Park, South Groathill Avenue, Edinburgh.
