Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney appeared delighted as she revealed there was a surprise visit on the cobbles. The actress was seen alongside co-stars Sally Dynevor and Sally Carman-Duttine as they supported a worthy cause.
Claire, who plays Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap, and her Sally Metcalfe and Abi Webster castmates were joined by Marti Pellow in Weatherfield as they all appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Tuesday (October 15).
The show's Change + Check campaign continued as the Wet Wet Wet star took Lorraine's 'Love Is All Around' bus to the famous street after he joined the Change + Check choir to create their new single, a reimagined version of the Scottish singer's top-ten hit. It’s brilliant what you’re doing and it’s very exciting to meet Marti as well." Continuing on the importance that soaps have in relaying these messages and discussing another recent visit where Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, spoke about her own breast cancer story with the Corrie cast, Sally continued: "I really think it was very important that Sarah shared her story as that made everyone even more aware, as someone in the public eye like that sharing that huge story, it really raises awareness so we are thrilled we got her onboard to prevent breast cancer.
