A dermatologist has revealed three winter habits she avoids, which are common amongst many of us during the colder months. With the recent freezing conditions sweeping across the UK, a lot of people experience dry skin due to the cold.
Dr Aamna Adel, from London, staunchly advises against certain typical wintertime practices such as indulging in hot showers and using heating tools like electric blankets or hot water bottles for warmth.
She explained her reasoning in an Instagram reel, spurring comments from followers who admitted they might struggle to part with their comforting hot water bottles.
In the reel, Dr Adel made it clear when she said: "Three things I would never do as a dermatologist, winter edition. And now this first one probably classifies me as being a psychopath but no hot showers, I’m sorry." She elaborated, stating: "I know it hits different in the winter to have a hot shower but that is going to dry your skin out like nothing else so we don’t have hot showers around here.
