Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan spoke out about his rage during a Good Morning Britain interview this morning, calling Tory Care minister Helen Whately 'inept' amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 55-year-old shared more thoughts about the interview which he branded 'inappropriate' and 'jarring' in his latest column for Mail Online.

In the interview, Piers didn't hold back when asking Helen Covid-19 related questions. He asked her: "Why are we so underprepared for testing for our care workers." Piers held up a copy of the Daily Mail, which claimed 4,000 people have died in UK care homes since the coronavirus pandemic began.

He then fumed: "I don’t know why you’re laughing" before she explained it was because she couldn't see the newspaper as her video call
