Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid were left in an awkward position on Monday's episode. The TV hosts were debating about the re-opening of schools amid the coronavirus pandemic with scientist Debbie Shrieder, the General Secretary of the National Education Union Kevin Courtney, Dr Mike Tilsley and politician Alan Johnson when a technical mishap saw the five guests 'vapourise' off-screen.

After Piers introduced the guests he gushed that they had a "stellar line-up" but before long the two presenters were left chatting to only one of the four debaters.
