Kym Marsh says 'running joke' played part in goodbye to beloved dad before health 'flare up'

Kym Marsh suffered from "very bad anxiety" when her father passed away and has opened up about how a 'running joke' played a part in her heartbreaking goodbye.

The actress lost her dad David Marsh, known as Dave, when he died in January at the age of 78 after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He publicly shared his prostate cancer diagnosis in 2021. Dave appeared on BBC's Morning Live with Kym and his wife Pauline after he wanted to make others aware of the symptoms and to seek medical help.

In November 2023, Kym's parents appeared on the BBC One programme to provide an update with Kym saying they were living "day by day" as her father’s cancer had spread into his bones before it was announced on January 12 that Dave had sadly died.
