This Morning's Sian Welby spoke to This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on Monday morning's show – as she opened up on her birth story after welcoming daughter Ruby. The 37-year-old presenter welcomed her first child with fiancé Jake Beckett last week before revealing her name as she shared an adorable snap of the little one wearing a knitted cardigan that featured 'Ruby' on the back.

Appearing on This Morning today via video link, new mum Sian beamed as she spoke of her joy. She said: “I am tired, delirious, but is the best thing I have ever done.

I am absolutely over the moon. I am loving every second despite it being carnage at times. Jake was actually filming me at the time when I held her and I said: 'I can't believe I'm meeting you it feels like a dream!” Sian then shared some details of her birth story, revealing that she had to have an emergency C-section, after originally planning a water birth.

After Cat said the birth wasn't "plain-sailing”, Sian said: "Well of course, and that is where you know we have the most incredible NHS and they just look after you and I just said, 'I will do whatever is the safest delivery for this baby, I just want what's best for them'." "I originally was planning to have a water birth because obviously, you can try and plan what you're going to have but then it boils down to what's the safest way.
