'Big bang' heard amid 'explosion' at North West house with three taken to hospital

Three people have been taken to hospital after reports of an 'explosion' at a house in Merseyside. A cordon is in place on Benedict Street in the Bootle area this afternoon (November 28), the Liverpool Echo reports.

Firefighters and paramedics are on the scene. Pictures show severe damage to the front of a terraced home. The front window of the house has collapsed onto the pavement and road, with glass and debris left strewn across the street. The extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed. One other patient was treated and discharged on scene, the NWAS spokesperson added.
