Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Good Morning Britain viewers have praised Piers Morgan for tearing into the Work and Pensions Secretary in a heated interview.

Thérèse Coffey appeared on the programme this morning and the interview became fierce at points as Piers questioned her over personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS workers.

During the grilling via videolink, Thérèse pleaded with the Good Morning Britain host to stop shouting at her live on air.Piers held up today's Daily Mirror which pictures health care workers who have sadly died from coronavirus and asked Thérèse if she knew the exact figure of these deaths to which she said she didn't.The presenter, known best for voicing his opinions, also demanded to know why VAT was being charged for PPE in care homes
