A bus driver was rushed to hospital after he had a 'substance' thrown at him on a main road in Salford. The terrifying incident happened on Eccles Old Road at around 2.35pm yesterday afternoon (Monday).
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said officers initially were called to reports of an assault. The Manchester Evening News understands the victim involved in the incident was a bus driver.

Medics found the substance was not corrosive and thankfully, the driver has no lasting injuries, police added. No arrests have been made with an investigation now underway.
