Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan erupts in anger as Care Minister 'laughs' as he demands death toll answers

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan didn't hold back during an interview with Minister of Care Helen Whately on today's show.

Digging for answers, the 55-year-old host was left outraged when he suspected the Minister had laughed during the interview.

He asked: "Why are we so underprepared for testing for our care workers." Piers held up a copy of the Daily Mail, which claimed 4,000 people have died in UK care homes since the coronavirus outbreak began.

Raising his voice, he asked: "I don’t know why you’re laughing." The Minister explained she had been laughing because she wasn't able to see the newspaper, as her video call faced outwards.
